A mutt a day...

My mom always tells my human brother and sister that "an apple a day keeps the doctor away," but you pets should know that just by existing we're doing our part to keep our humans healthy too!

New studies have shown that when baby humans grow up with lovable mutts (such as myself) it drastically reduces their chance of developing allergies later on in life. Apparently we provide the needed exposure to these little animals called germs that help in developing a healthy immune system. So make sure to look out for the health of your humans by licking and cuddling them often!

I've read about this as well so I'm not anal about my baby having contact with my 2 dogs. My mom, however, doesn't buy it! =(

My mother had a crazy germ phobia when i was a kid and so she bleached everything and we were on antibiotics nearly every time we sneezed. I am in my mid-20's and allergic to EVERYTHING and I get sick at the drop of a hat. I think that had something to do with it.

Now my mom thinks I am absolutely nuts because I have 2 cats (even though highly allergic) and I am fostering 8 babies and 2 mother cats. I do have issues occasionally, but I love what I do :)

My mom was the exact same way!! She was/is extremely anal about keeping everything clean 24/7 so now I'm allergic to everything and get sick all the time as well. I gave up trying to convince her that a little dirt and doggie hair around my baby is okay. Glad you're doing your best despite to help others all the allergies!
