Polluted grass is not yummy

I've already written about how rolling around in chemically-treated grass can be dangerous for us pets. You can bet that eating the stuff is even worse -- and since dogs are omnivorous, many of us have been known to munch on the lawn from time to time.

Dogs who eat grass treated with chemicals put themselves at great risk. They're not only ingesting the grass, but also the chemicals that're poisonous enough to hurt them merely by coming into contact with the skin.

The best thing we dogs can do to prevent eating chemically-treated grass is, of course, staying away from chemically-treated grass. Humans can avoid using pesticides and herbicides on their grass to help dogs out with this one.

In cases where humans cannot avoid having chemicals on their lawn, dogs can eat fresh vegetables in order to curb our appetite for grass.

I've personally never had the urge to go out back and munch on the lawn. Maybe it's because my mom feeds me clean, delicious, and oh-so-nutritious fresh vegetables from time to time!

Patty, check out this post I did a while back on pet-friendly lawn care. I'll let you know if I find out anything else!
