2 dogs, 2000 miles, one mission: No more cancer

Some people like to go for long walks to help them deal with the sadness and grief of losing a loved one. It works for dogs, too -- I know I went on a lot of long walks after Feathers died.

But I never would have thought to take a 2,400 mile walk!

That's exactly what Murphy and Hudson, two dedicated dogs, decided to do after they lost their brother Malcom to cancer. Together with their dad Luke, they're walking all the way from Austin to Boston to raise awareness about cancer prevention and raise money for cancer research. Luke says:

There are many cancer foundations which work towards finding a cure, and while we applaud their efforts, we want to know what’s causing it. The funds raised from the walk will finance the first ever nationwide epidemiological canine cancer study. We do it for the dogs, and for all humanity.

I can get behind that! You can read lots more about the 2 Dogs, 2000 Miles project at their website -- and check out the memorial wall for furry friends lost to cancer.
